Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of motivation on employee performance at Fountain Café Sun Plaza Medan. In an effort to provide work motivation and to improve performance, the leadership at Fountain Cafe always provides examples of good work practices, provides advice and conducts briefings to employees.
Motivation is the giving of a driving force that creates the excitement of one's work, so that they want to work together, work effectively, and are integrated with all their efforts to achieve satisfaction. Employee performance is often interpreted as the achievement of tasks.
Descriptive and causal studies were used to analyze a sample of 18 employees. Respondents were employees of Fountain Café Sun Plaza Medan who were taken using saturated sampling criteria using all employees as research samples.
The distribution of the questionnaires has passed the validity and reliability tests. The tested data also passed the normality test, heteroscedasticity test and linearity test. The value of the coefficient of determination shows 56.6% that motivation affects employee performance at Fountain Café Sun Plaza Medan
For this reason, suggestions can be given to employees who have been able to show good performance to restaurants in their work although they still need continuous improvement to continue to maintain existing performance. Motivation can be given by way of salary increases, awards and promotions for employees who excel. By continuously monitoring employee performance throughout the training period and when they are finished, they are already permanent employees./ Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh motivasi terhadap kinerja karyawan di Fountain Café Sun Plaza Medan. Dalam upaya memberikan motivasi kerja dan meningkatkan kinerja, pimpinan di Fountain Cafe selalu memberikan contoh praktik kerja yang baik, memberikan saran dan melakukan pengarahan kepada karyawan
Motivasi adalah pemberian tenaga penggerak yang menimbulkan kegairahan kerja seseorang, sehingga mau bekerja sama, bekerja secara efektif, dan terintegrasi dengan segala daya upayanya untuk mencapai kepuasan. Kinerja pegawai sering diartikan sebagai pencapaian tugas.
Studi deskriptif dan kausal digunakan untuk menganalisis sampel dari 18 karyawan. Responden adalah karyawan Fountain Café Sun Plaza Medan yang diambil dengan menggunakan kriteria sampling jenuh dengan menggunakan seluruh karyawan sebagai sampel penelitian.
Penyebaran kuesioner telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Data yang diuji juga lolos uji normalitas, uji heteroskedastisitas dan uji linieritas. Nilai koefisien determinasi menunjukkan 56,6% bahwa motivasi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan di Fountain Café Sun Plaza Medan
Untuk itu saran yang dapat diberikan kepada karyawan yang telah mampu menunjukkan kinerja yang baik kepada restoran dalam pekerjaannya walaupun masih membutuhkan perbaikan terus menerus untuk terus mempertahankan kinerja yang ada. Motivasi dapat diberikan dengan cara kenaikan gaji, penghargaan dan promosi bagi karyawan yang berprestasi. Dengan terus memantau kinerja karyawan selama masa pelatihan dan ketika mereka selesai, mereka sudah menjadi karyawan tetap.
