Abstract
Zoltan Kodaly, a Hungarian composer developed an approach for music
education then well known as Kodaly Method. According to Undang-Undang
Republik Indonesia Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 pasal 1 ayat 14, early childhood
education is an education delivered to zero until six years old. This research has
purpose to analyze the improvement of sight-reading skill, singing skill and
learning motivation of children at 3-5 years old with the application of Kodaly
Method. This research was conducted on 30 children at the age of 3-5 years old at
Angela Bunda Kindergarten in quantitative method, one group pretest-posttest
experiment design. Instrument of the research is three kinds of rubric with
observation as the way for collecting the data. Furthermore, the research data will
create Mean score, N-Gain score and Wilcoxon test score then will be analyzed.
Regarding to the result of the research, it was found that Kodaly Method could
improve the sight-reading skill, the singing skill, and the learning motivation of
children at 3-5 years old. / Zoltan Kodaly, seorang komposer asal Hungaria, mengembangan sebuah
pendekatan dalam pendidikan musik yang dikenal dengan nama metode Kodaly.
Menurut Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 pasal 1 ayat
14, pendidikan yang diberikan kepada anak sejak usia baru lahir sampai 6 tahun
disebut sebagai pendidikan anak usia dini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk
menganalisis peningkatan keterampilan membaca notasi musik, keterampilan
bernyanyi dan motivasi belajar anak usia dini 3-5 tahun dengan penerapan metode
Kodaly. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 30 anak usia 3-5 tahun di sekolah TK
Angela Bunda dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen one
group pretest-post-test design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini adalah tiga buah rubrik dengan observasi sebagai cara pengambilan
data. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan data hasil penelitian akan diperoleh nilai Mean,
nilai Gain dan nilai uji hipotesa Wilcoxon yang akan dianalisis. Berdasarkan hasil
penelitian, metode Kodaly dapat meningkatan keterampilan membaca notasi
musik, keterampilan bernyanyi, dan motivasi belajar anak usia 3-5 tahun.
