Abstract

The study is based on facts that speech delays cases specifically for early childhood in the past 10 years continue to increase with prevalence rates arounds 5-10% that if not handled well will cause problems in growth and development including children socialization skills, education, especially in speech and communication skills with their environment. This condition as a result from busy parents and environment that gives the either children with gadget, television, either accompanied or nobodies available to talk / communicate with. The purpose of this study was to analyze application of Prompt method to increase communication skill, speech skill, and phonology mastery to a child that experienced speech delays. Prompt method usually used to study changes in behavior after giving an intervention where in this research we use multiple baseline variables ABA’B’. This is a research using Single Subject Research methods with A age five-year-old as the research subject that experienced speech delays and diagnosed at two-and-a-half-year-old. The research instruments used to collect the data were rubrics that had been validated and verbal questions to using pictures, small movable alphabets, and book stories to gain more understanding of child progress and behavior. The results research for phonology mastery, there were progress with % increase achievement in phase A 56%, phase B 75%, phase A’ 94%, and phase B’ 88%; for speech skill, there were progress with increase % achievement A phase 56%, phase B 81%, phase A’ 81%, and phase B’ 88%, and for communication skill also there were progress with increase achievement phase A 50%, phase B 75%, phase A’ 83%, and B’ phase 92%. This shows using Prompt method can increases communication skill, speech skill, and phonology master on five-year old children with speech delays experience./ Penelitian ini dibuat berdasarkan fakta bahwa 10 tahun belakangan ini, kasus keterlambatan bicara khususnya pada anak usia dini semakin meningkat, dimana nilai prevalensinya di sekitar 5-10%; yang apabila tidak diatasi dengan baik akan mengakibatkan masalah tumbuh kembang anak, khususnya pada kemampuan sosialisasi anak dan bidang pendidikan, khususnya pada keterampilan bicara dan komunikasi anak terhadap lingkungan sekitarnya. Kondisi ini sebagai akibat dari kesibukan orang tua dan lingkungan sekitar yang memberikan anak gawai, televisi tanpa didampingi orang dewasa untuk berbicara atau berkomunikasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisa peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi, keterampilan bicara, dan penguasaan fonologi pada anak usia lima tahun yang mengalami keterlambatan bicara menggunakan metode Prompt. Metode Prompt biasa digunakan untuk mempelajari perubahan sikap /perilaku setelah diberikan intervensi dimana dalam penelitian ini digunakan multiple baseline variables ABA’B’. Penelitian ini menggunakan Single Subject Research dengan subjek penelitiannya A usia 5 tahun yang mengalami keterlambatan bicara dan didiagnosa pada usia 2,5 tahun. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah rubrik yang sudah divalidasi dan pertanyaan verbal menggunakan gambar, small movable alphabets, dan buku cerita untuk mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai perkembangan perilaku anak. Kesimpulan penelitian untuk penguasaan fonologi, adanya peningkatan pencapaian dengan % pencapaian pada fase A 56%, fase B 75%, fase A’ 94%, dan fase B’ 88%; untuk keterampilan bicara, terdapat peningkatan pencapaian fase A 56%, fase B 81%, fase A’ 81%, dan fase B’ 88%, dan untuk keterampilan komunikasi juga mengalami peningkatan pencapaian fase A 50%, fase B 75%, fase A’ 83%, dan fase B’ 92%. Hal ini menunjukkan penggunaan metode Prompt dapat meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi, keterampilan bicara, dan penguasaan fonologi pada anak usia lima tahun yang mengalami keterlambatan bicara.
