Abstract
This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skill, curiosity and creativity of grade five students.The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of Problem Based Learning model to improve critical thinking, curiosity and creativity on grade five students. The type of research used is classroom action research which consists of three learning cycles with the stages of identifying the problem, defining terms, exploring strategies, acting on the strategy, and looking at the effect.The subjects of this study were 21 students in one class. The instrument used was an assessment rubric to measure critical thinking skills, curiosity and creativity of a students. The result showed that there was an increase in the average value of critical thinking in the first cycle is 65, 2, in the second cycle is 74,4 and in the third cycle to 84,8. The increase in the average value of curiosity in the first cycle was 66,7 , in the second cycle is 71,4 and in the third cycle to 82,7. The increase in the average of creativity in the first cycle is 66,4, in the second cycle is 72,9 and in the third cycle to 88,4. It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can improve critical thinking skill, curiosity and creativity in English lesson of grade five students in XYZ School./Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis, sikap rasa ingin tahu dan kreativitas belajar siswa kelas VA. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis peningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, sikap rasa ingin tahu dan kreativitas belajar siswa pada pelajaran Bahasa Inggris kelas VA Sekolah Dasar Swasta XYZ dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang terdiri dari tiga siklus pembelajaran dengan tahapan memberikan orientasi tentang permasalahan kepada siswa, pengorganisasian siswa untuk belajar, pembimbingan penyelidikan individual ataupun kelompok, pengembangan dan penyajian hasil karya, dan analisis dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 21 siswa dalam satu kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah rubrik penilaian untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis, sikap rasa ingin tahu dan kreativitas belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan rata-rata nilai berpikir kritis pada siklus satu yaitu 65,2, pada siklus dua yaitu 74,4 dan pada siklus tiga menjadi 84,8. Peningkatan rata-rata nilai sikap rasa ingin tahu pada siklus satu yaitu 66,7, pada siklus dua yaitu 71,4 dan pada siklus tiga menjadi 82,7. Peningkatan nilai rata-rata kreativitas belajar siswapada siklus satu yaitu 66,4, pada siklus dua yaitu 72,9 dan pada siklus tiga menjadi 88,4. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, sikap rasa ingin tahu dan kreativitas belajar siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VA di sekolah XYZ
