Abstract

Kecerdasan emosi murid dalam mengenali keadaan emosi murid lain ditemukan tidak memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap tingkat pencapaian akademis murid di kelas Biologi / Learning happens inside and outside of the classroom through various interactions experienced by students at Sekolah Pelita Harapan Kemang Village. One measurable learning indicator is students’ academic achievement in Biology class which can be affected by various factors. Parent is one factor which holds the natural interest of the students’ learning at home which relates to their academic performance. Students’ self-efficacy is the intrinsic factor of the students constructed based on their previous experiences and affects their academic achievement. Lastly, students’ emotional intelligence also holds an important role in determining the students’ behavior inside and outside the class which affects the learning process and their academic achievement. The aim of this study is to identify the effect of parental involvement, students’ self-efficacy and emotional intelligence to their academic achievement in Biology class through quantitative approach: PLS-SEM and Path Analysis. Questionnaires are used to collect data of the independent variables and tests scores are used to measure the academic achievement of the students. The data collected is analyzed using SmartPLS 3.0 program. The result of the study showed that students’ self-efficacy has the largest effect to students’ academic achievement compared to other factors. The other finding is that physical presence and indirect parental involvement have weak positive effect to the students’ achievement. Lastly, the students’ emotional intelligence in identifying other’s emotion does not have positive effect to the students’ academic achievement
