Abstract

Mentoring is a program where a young person is given to someone who is very trusted to be guided. Mentors are figures who are expected to bring their mentees to experience transformational change. In this case, it can be said that mentoring is one form of transformational leadership owned by the XYZ Faculty. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of mentoring for the development of mentee transformational leadership and examine other things that can have an impact on the implementation of mentoring. Qualitative research with a case study approach at the XYZ Faculty that has Christian transformational values is carried out to describe the values obtained from individuals based on their experience of mentoring. The research instruments were interviews and also observations of official documents that became archives of the XYZ Faculty. The resource person consisted of a mentor and mentee of the XYZ Faculty, all of which there were twelve people and two from the student department. Data processing is done by analytic coding using the Nvivo program 11. The results show that there are four aspects of mentoring that are effective for the development of transformational leadership in the XYZ Faculty, namely: Characteristics of Ideal Mentors, Building Vision and Mission in God, Experiencing Personal Transformation in Divine Joy Loving God and Others, where changes in these values can be seen through the experience of mentors and mentees during the mentoring process. Other things that need to be considered are the Individual and Communication Factors of Vision and Mission. / Mentoring merupakan suatu program dimana seorang yang muda diberikan kepada orang yang sangat dipercaya untuk dibimbing. Mentor merupakan sosok yang diharapkan dapat membawa mentee-nya untuk mengalami perubahan transformasional. Dalam hal ini, dapat dikatakan bahwa mentoring merupakan salah satu bentuk kepemimpinan transformasional yang dimiliki oleh Fakultas XYZ. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali efektivitas mentoring bagi pengembangan kepemimpinan transformasional mentee dan meneliti hal-hal lain yang dapat berdampak terhadap pelaksanaan mentoring. Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus di Fakultas XYZ yang memiliki nilai-nilai transformasional Kristen, dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai yang didapatkan dari individu berdasarkan pengalaman mereka terhadap mentoring. Instrumen penelitian adalah wawancara dan juga observasi terhadap dokumen resmi yang menjadi arsip Fakultas XYZ. Narasumber terdiri dari mentor dan mentee Fakultas XYZ yang semuanya berjumlah dua belas orang serta dua orang dari departemen kemahasiswaan. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan koding analitik menggunakan program Nvivo 11. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat aspek mentoring yang berefektif bagi pengembangan kepemimpinan transformasional di Fakultas XYZ, yakni: Ciri Mentor Ideal, Membangun Visi dan Misi di dalam Tuhan, Mengalami Transformasi Pribadi dalam Sukacita Ilahi, Mengasihi Tuhan dan Sesama, dimana perubahan dari nilainilai tersebut dapat dilihat melalui pengalaman mentor dan mentee selama proses mentoring berlangsung. Hal-hal lain yang cukup perlu diperhatikan adalah Faktor Individu dan Komunikasi Visi dan Misi.
