Abstract

Pembelajaran yang ideal adalah ketika siswa dapat menjalankan tugasnya dengan baik. Tugas seorang siswa adalah belajar, bertanggungjawab terhadap tugas yang diberikan, dapat membangun komunikasi yang baik dengan sesama siswa. Serta siswa mampu memenuhi atau menguasai 75% pembelajaran yang diajarkan dan mampu memenuhi Standar Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yang telah ditentukan oleh sekolah untuk pembelajaran IPA yaitu 70. Namun dari pengamatan yang dilakukan, hasil belajar menunjukkan 14% siswa tidak mencapai KKM pada materi sistem organisasi kehidupan tentang sel dan 58% siswa tidak mencapai KKM pada materi sistem organisasi kehidupan tentang jaringan, serta siswa yang tuntas KKM belum mencapai 75%. Maka penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII-1 pada topik Klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup dengan menggunakan metode Think Pair Share (TPS). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton, yang dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali tindakan pada tanggal 26 September 2018 dan 28 September 2018. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas VII-1 SMP Gunungsitoli dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 34 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu, lembar observasi guru mentor, jurnal refleksi peneliti, RPP, dan hasil tes siswa. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada penerapan satu 58% dan pada penerapan kedua hasil tes siswa mengalami peningkatan menjadi 79%. Sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa di SMP Gunungsitoli dengan menggunakan metode TPS./ An ideal learning is when students do their job well. The duty of a student is to learn, being responsible for a given task, and build a better communication with fellow students. As well as students able to fulfill or master 75% of the learning taught and able to meet the passing grade that have been determined by the school for science learning is 70. However from observations made, learning results show 14% of students did not reached passing grade in organizational system material life about cells and 58% of students did not reached the passing grade in the material system of life organization about networks, and students who completed passing grade did not reach 75%. Thus, the purpose of this research was to improve the learning outcomes of students in class VII-1 through Integrated Science lessons in the material of Classification of Living Beings using the Think Pair Share (TPS) method. The type of research used is Pelton's Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was carried out two times on September 26, 2018 and September 28 2018. The research subjects were students of class VII-1 in Gunungsitoli Junior High School with 34 students. Instruments, which are: teacher mentor observation sheet, researcher’s journal reflection, lesson plan, and students’ test results. The result of this study reveals that student learning outcomes on the test result of first action, in which about 58% and on the second action the students’ test result increased to 79%. Therefore it can be concluded that there was an improvement in students’ cognitive learning outcomes student’s Gunungsitoli Junior High School through the implementation of TPS method.
