Abstract

Employees are one of the most important things that needed to be paid attention to since employees are the driving force of the company. However, Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa Hotel experienced low in employee performance. The aim of this research is to find out the influence that job motivation and work discipline could have on employee performance at Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa Hotel. Job motivation and work discipline are one of the factors that could affect employee performance. The low of employee performance can be due to lack of job motivation and work discipline. In this research, the writer is using SPSS V.25 and a quantitative research design. The writer used proportionate random sampling with the total sample 59 employees that work at Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa Hotel. From the hypothesis test’s result, job motivation and work discipline have either partially or simultaneously influence on employee performance at Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa Hotel. Moreover, job motivation and work discipline have a 44.3% influence on employee performance. This research has passed the multicollinearity test, validity test, reliability test, normality test, and multiple linear regression test which the equation is Y= 11.777 + 0.496X1 + 0.480X2. The recommendation is that the company must give more appreciation to employees in form of rewards, bonuses, and promotions to motivate employees. Moreover, the manager can be stricter in monitoring the employees and give warnings to those who do not obey the rules and regulations to discipline employees./ Karyawan merupakan salah satu hal terpenting yang perlu diperhatikan karena karyawan merupakan motor penggerak perusahaan. Namun, Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa Hotel mengalami kinerja karyawan yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan di Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa Hotel. Motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan. Rendahnya kinerja karyawan dapat disebabkan karena kurangnya motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan SPSS V.25 dengan desain penelitian kuantitatif. Penulis menggunakan proportional random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 59 karyawan yang bekerja di Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa Hotel. Dari hasil uji hipotesis, motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh baik secara parsial maupun simultan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Grand Mercure Medan Angkasa Hotel. Sedangkan motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja memiliki pengaruh sebesar 44,3% terhadap kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini telah lulus uji multikolinearitas, uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, dan uji regresi linier berganda yang persamaannya adalah Y= 11.777 + 0.496X1 + 0.480X2. Rekomendasi yang diberikan adalah perusahaan harus lebih memberikan apresiasi kepada karyawan dalam bentuk penghargaan, bonus, dan promosi untuk memotivasi karyawan. Selain itu, manajer dapat lebih ketat dalam memantau karyawan dan memberikan peringatan kepada mereka yang tidak mematuhi aturan dan peraturan untuk mendisiplinkan karyawan.
