Abstract
Selama pembelajaran biologi yang berlangsung di SMP Lentera Harapan Kupang,
ditemukan bahwa siswa kelas VII-2 kurang dalam hal konsentrasi dikarenakan
suasana kelas yang tidak kondusif dan kurang mendukung dalam proses belajar,
maka dari itu peneliti menerapkan peraturan kelas untuk meningkatkan
konsentrasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah penerapan
peraturan kelas dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar siswa dan untuk melihat
bagaimana penerapan peraturan kelas dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar
siswa kelas VII-.2
Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode penelitian tindakan
kelas model siklus Kemmis dan Mc taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 13
Oktober 2016 sampai 20 Oktober 2016. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 27
siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam variabel konsentrasi belajar adalah
angket siswa, lembar observasi mentor, lembar checklist siswa, dan jurnal refleksi,
sedangkan instrumen yang digunakan untuk variabel peraturan kelas adalah
lembar observasi, dokumentasi, dan jurnal refleksi.
Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan konsentrasi belajar
pada indikator pertama yaitu siswa memberikan perhatian terhadap pembelajaran
sebesar 90,74%, dan indikator kedua yaitu adanya keterlibatan penuh di dalam
kelas sebesar 89,75%. Adapun penerapan peraturan kelas dilakukan dengan
menetapkan peraturan dan konsekuensi. Selanjutnya, peneliti menyatakan setiap
aturan dengan menggunakan kalimat positif yang mendorong siswa untuk menaati
dan menerapkan peraturan tersebut. Peneliti juga mengkomunikasikan setiap butir
peraturan secara verbal dengan jelas dan memberikan contoh tentang peraturan
serta mengilustrasikannya dengan menggunakan gerakan tubuh dan nama siswa.
Dalam meningkatkan kekonsistenan peraturan, peneliti mengingatkan siswa
apabila melakukan pelanggaran di dalam kelas. / During the learning process of Biology at Lentera Harapan Junior High School
Kupang, it is found that students of class VII-2 lack of concentration due to the
classroom situation which does not support learning process, therefore researcher
set classroom rules to increase the student’s concentration in learning. This
research has a purpose to prove wether the implementation of classroom rules is
successful to increase students’ concentration in learning as well as to see how the
implementation of classroom rules increases the learning concentration of class
VII-2 students.
The method used in this research was Classroom Action Research by using
Kemmis and Mc Taggart’s model. This research held on October 13th 2016 until
October 20th 2016. Sample taken were 27 students. The instrument that used in
variable concentrations were student’s questioner, mentor’s observation sheet,
student’s checklist sheet, and journal reflections, while the instrument that used in
variable of classroom rules were mentor’s observation sheet, documentation, and
journal reflections.
The results of research showed that an increase in the concentrations studied of
the first indicator which is students paying attention during learning in the class,
reaching 90,7%, and the second indicator, which is the full involvement in the
class, reaching 89,6%. As for the implementation of the classroom rules was
conducted by applying the rules and concequences. The researcher asserted every
rules using positive language which encourages students to obey and follow the
rules. Researcher also explained every rules point verbally, more clearly, and gave
example as a role model and as well as illustrate the rules using body movement
and students’ name. In order to increase the rules’s consistency, the researcher
reminded the students once they broke the rules in the class.
