Abstract
Penelitian quasi eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan media loose part dalam meningkatkan pemecahan masalah, berpikir kritis, dan kreativitas siswa TK 2 di TK XYZ Jakarta. Penelitian ini melibatkan kelompok kontrol yang terdiri dari 26 siswa dan kelompok eksperimen yang terdiri dari 25 siswa dan menggunakan penilaian pretest
dan posttest untuk mengukur kemajuan siswa. Kelompok eksperimen menerima perlakuan melalui penggabungan media loose parts ke dalam kegiatan kelas, sedangkan kelompok kontrol mengikuti kurikulum reguler. Studi ini mengukur skor rata-rata dari kedua kelompok pada pretest dan posttest, dengan berfokus pada keterampilan pemecahan masalah, berpikir kritis, dan kreativitas. Hasilnya menunjukkan skor rata-rata yang meningkat dari kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol pada posttest dan pretest, tetapi tidak termasuk keterampilan berpikir kritis
Sementara kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan dalam
pemecahan masalah dan kreativitas ditunjukkan dengan memperoleh skor rata-rata yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol, kelompok eksperimen juga menunjukkan nilai rata-rata n-gain yang sama untuk keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan kelompok kontrol. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media loose parts berdampak positif pada pemecahan masalah dan kreativitas pada siswa taman kanak-kanak. Namun, keefektifan pendekatan ini dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mungkin memerlukan penyelidikan lebih lanjut atau strategi pembelajaran alternatif. / This quasi-experimental research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of utilizing loose parts in improving problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity among K2 students at Kindergarten XYZ Jakarta. The study
involved a control group of 26 students and an experimental group of 25 students and used pretest and posttest assessments to measure the students' progress. The experimental group received treatment through the
incorporation of loose parts into their classroom activities, while the control group followed the regular curriculum. The study measured the mean scores of both groups on their pretest and posttest, focusing on problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills. The results indicated an improvement of the mean scores of experimental groups compared to the control group on
their posttest and pretest, excluding critical thinking skill. While the experimental group displayed notable improvement in problem-solving and creativity which is shown by gaining higher mean score compared to the control group, experimental groups also exhibited similar n-gain values for
critical thinking skill to the control group. These findings suggest that the use of loose parts media positively impacts problem-solving and creativity among kindergarten students. However, the effectiveness of this approach in improving critical thinking may require further investigation or alternative instructional strategies.
