Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how mathematical communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills affect the understanding of concepts of grade VI elementary school students in LH schools. Students' understanding of mathematical concepts tends to be weak, as evidenced by the first semester grades obtained by students. This ultimately motivates researchers to conduct research on variables that can affect the understanding of mathematical concepts of students. 54 students were sampled in this study. Each instrument used has gone through validation and reliability tests in order to be used to analyze data. Mathematical communication skills contribute 81% to concept understanding. Furthermore, it was also found that critical thinking skills contribute to concept understanding by 40%, meaning that critical thinking skills have a positive influence on students' understanding of concepts. The variable of problem-solving skills also positively affected the understanding of concepts, and was able to explain by 62%. This study also found that there is a positive influence between mathematical communication skills on students' problem-solving abilities, and there is a positive influence between critical thinking skills on students' problem-solving abilities. / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan komunikasi matematis, berpikir kritis, dan pemecahan masalah terhadap pemahaman konsep yang dimiliki oleh siswa kelas VI SD di sekolah LH. Berdasarkan nilai siswa pada semester satu, menunjukan bahwa kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami konsep-konsep matematika rendah. Hal tersebut akhirnya mendorong peneliti untuk melakukan penelitian sehingga dapat mengetahui faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 54 peserta didik. Setiap instrumen yang digunakan telah teruji valid dan reliabel sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mengukur. Hasil analisis yang dilakukan menemukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif antara keterampilan komunikasi matematis dengan pemahaman konsep. Keterampilan komunikasi matematis berkontribusi sebesar 81% terhadap pemahaman konsep. Selanjutnya, ditemukan juga bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis berkontribusi terhadap pemahaman konsep sebesar 40%, artinya keterampilan berpikir kritis memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Variabel keterampilan pemecahan masalah juga berpengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman konsep, dan mampu menjelaskan sebesar 62%. Kemudian, penelitian ini juga melihat pengaruh antara keterampilan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kritis terhadap keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa keterampilan komunikasi matematis berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan pemecahan masalah, serta keterampilan berpikir kritis juga berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan pemecahan masalah.
