Abstract

The author interned from May 15 to September 11, 2017, in Bstartup, Menara Batavia. Bstartup is a business incubator which assists start-up companies develop into a new entrepreneurial organization Bstartup currently has two goals, which are to increase the number of incubatees and build networks through the Bstartup Ecosystem map. Hence, to achieve its goals, Bstartup needs to (1) analyze its current situation by using SWOT analysis, and (2) evaluate process model by benchmarking the success factor of an incubator in general to know whether Bstartup process model is in line with the success factor. To answer the problems, the author used theories such as SWOT analysis, incubator process model and critical success factors of incubators. Based on the analysis, the author concludes that (1) Bstartup's strengths and opportunities help build strategic partnerships and networks, but Bstartup's weaknesses and threats hinder it from increasing the number of incubatees (2) Bstartup's process model still does not fulfill all the critical success factors in the pre-incubation and main incubation phases The author therefore recommends that: (1) Bstartup needs to be proactive in the pre- incubation phase and 2) strengthens incubator governance in the main incubation phase, to attract and produce more incubatees.
