Abstract

Tanggung jawab harus dimiliki oleh setiap siswa termasuk dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Namun, kenyataannya pada kelas IX salah satu sekolah Kristen di Lampung ditemukan bahwa masih kurangnya tanggung jawab siswa dalam menjalankan perannya sebagai seorang pelajar. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan guru dalam mengembangkan karakter siswa adalah dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran salah satunya diskusi kelompok. Tujuan penulisan paper ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan diskusi kelompok dalam mengembangkan tanggung jawab siswa kelas IX. Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Tanggung jawab siswa kelas IX selama pembelajaran dapat dikembangkan melalui penerapan metode diskusi kelompok dengan tahapan persiapan, diskusi, dan penutup. Indikator tanggung jawab siswa yang terlihat setelah penerapan metode diskusi kelompok adalah siswa berpartisipasi aktif di dalam pembelajaran, mengikuti instruksi yang diberikan, bekerja sama dengan baik, serta mengumpulkan tugas tepat waktu. Siswa diciptakan segambar dan serupa dengan Allah yang tentunya harus bertanggung jawab kepada Allah. Melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran, guru Kristen akan menuntun siswa untuk bertanggung jawab atas segala tindakannya termasuk bertanggung jawab kepada Allah. Saran yang diberikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah memperkirakan waktu yang digunakan untuk berdiskusi sesuai topik yang dibahas serta mengkaji penerapan diskusi kelompok pada aspek kognitif dan keterampilan siswa. Kata Kunci: Karakter, Tanggung jawab, Diskusi Kelompok /ABSTRACT Responsibility must be owned by every student, including in participating in learning. However, in reality, in class IX of one of the Christian schools in Lampung, it was found that students still lacked responsibility in carrying out their role as a student. Efforts that can be made by teachers in developing student character are by applying learning methods, one of which is group discussion. The purpose of writing this paper is to describe the application of group discussions in developing the responsibility of ninth grade students. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. The responsibility of grade IX students during learning can be developed through the application of group discussion methods with preparation, discussion, and closing stages. Indicators of student responsibility seen after the application of the group discussion method are students actively participating in learning, following the instructions given, cooperating well, and collecting assignments on time. Students are created in the image and likeness of God who must certainly be responsible to God. Through the application of learning methods, Christian teachers will lead students to be responsible for all their actions including being responsible to God. Suggestions given for further research are to estimate the time used for discussion according to the topic discussed and to examine the application of group discussions on the cognitive and skill aspects of students.
