Abstract

Pemahaman konsep adalah modal awal siswa untuk mampu menyelesaikan persoalan matematika dengan benar. Namun, pemahaman konsep siswa masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini ditemukan melalui observasi pada siswa kelas 10.1 di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Lampung Selatan. Siswa belum mampu menyatakan konsep secara lisan atau tulisan, memberikan contoh dan non-contoh dari konsep, menyajikan konsep dalam bentuk representasi matematis lain, menggunakan serta memilih prosedur atau operasi tertentu, serta mengaplikasikan konsep dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa perlu diselesaikan melalui model pembelajaran tipe TAI. Tujuan penulisan paper ini adalah untuk menunjukkan model pembelajaran Team Assisted Individualization dapat membangun pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi logaritma, dan mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran Team Assisted Individualization dalam membangun pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi logaritma. Penelitian ini ditulis menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada penerapan model pembelajaran tipe TAI mengalami peningkatan dari 40,58% menjadi 85,25%. Keberhasilan ini didukung oleh penggabungan pembelajaran individual dan kooperatif pada model pembelajaran tipe TAI. Selama penerapan, guru berperan sebagai penuntun untuk mendorong siswa dalam memaknai pembelajaran dengan benar. Saran dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa perlu diperlengkapi dengan kecakapan komunikasi melalui kegiatan ekstrakulikuler public speaking sehingga siswa dapat menjadi tutor yang baik dalam kelompok./Understanding concepts is the initial capital for students to be able to solve mathematical problems correctly. However, students' conceptual understanding is still relatively low. This was discovered through observations of class 10.1 students at a Christian school in South Lampung. Students are not yet able to express concepts orally or in writing, provide examples and non-examples of concepts, present concepts in other forms of mathematical representation, use and choose certain procedures or operations, and apply concepts in solving problems. Students' low understanding of concepts needs to be resolved through the TAI type learning model. The purpose of writing this paper is to show that the Team Assisted Individualization learning model can build students' conceptual understanding of logarithm material, and to describe the application of the Team Assisted Individualization learning model in building students' conceptual understanding of logarithm material. This research was written using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of the research show that the average percentage of students' concept understanding ability when implementing the TAI type learning model has increased from 40.58% to 85.25%. This success is supported by the combination of individual and cooperative learning in the TAI type learning model. During implementation, the teacher acts as a guide to encourage students to interpret learning correctly. The suggestion in this research is that students need to be equipped with communication skills through public speaking extracurricular activities so that students can become good tutors in groups.
