Abstract

Era globalisasi menghadirkan banyak tantangan terhadap dunia Pendidikan, termaksud untuk guru. Sebagai seorang pendidik, guru dituntut lebih profesional dalam menyikapi masalah-masalah pendidikan, terutama dalam perkembangan teknologi dan informasi. Kenyataan di lapangan, masih terdapat guru yang belum bisa beradaptasi dengan situasi tersebut. Guru belum mampu menggunakan teknologi ketika mengajar untuk menghasilkan suatu pembelajaran yang bermakna. Pembelajaran bermakna melalui pandangan progresivisme melihat bahwa siswa adalah makluk yang aktif, artinya mereka juga mengikuti perkembangan teknologi yang ada sehingga diperlukan profesionalisme guru untuk membimbing dan menuntun mereka dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan peran guru Kristen mengembangkan profesionalismenya untuk menciptakan pembelajaran bermakna dalam era globalisasi. Melalui kajian literatur yang digunakan penulis melakukan penelitian mengenai peran guru Kristen dan peran guru sekuler. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru Kristen memiliki peran sebagai pembimbing dan menuntun siswa untuk memiliki pengenalan karya keselamatan sehingga seorang guru Kristen perlu melihat pengajaran yang dilakukan sebagai suatu pelayanan. Seorang guru Kristen disarankan berefleksi tentang panggilannya dan membuka diri untuk berkembang sesuai perkembangan teknologi yang terjadi. "/". The era of globalization presents many challenges to the world of education, including for teachers. As educators, teachers are required to be more professional in addressing educational issues, especially in the development of technology and information. The reality in the field is that there are still teachers who have not been able to adapt to this situation. Teachers have not yet been able to use technology effectively in teaching to create meaningful learning experiences. Meaningful learning, from a progressive perspective, views students as active beings, meaning they also follow the developments in technology, requiring teachers' professionalism to guide them in learning. This research aims to explain the role of Christian teachers in developing their professionalism to create meaningful learning in the era of globalization. Through a literature review, the author investigates the roles of Christian and secular teachers. It can be concluded that Christian teachers play a role as guides, leading students to have an understanding of salvation's work, so a Christian teacher needs to see their teaching as a service. A Christian teacher is advised to reflect on their calling and be open to developing in line with technological advancements.
