Abstract

Disrespect and discipline are problems that are often encountered among students. This is also sawed by educators in the XYZ Makassar Junior High School, especially in grade VIII students. For teachers, disrespected and indisplined behavior becomes very distinctive because it stars to emerge since in VII, and continues to increase when in grade VIII. This research is a case study involving ten resepondents, namely four students, four parents or guardians, and two teachers. The Technique of collecting data uses in-depth interviews, observation and document review. The validity of the data is tested through source triagulation. The results of this study indicate that according to the teacher’s view, disrespect behavior is shown through: 1) Giving denial. 2) Speaking in a language that is not polite. 3) Not giving attention when teacher teaches. Indiscipline behavior is shown through: 1) Making noise in class. 2) Not using school attributes. 3)Not giving up assignments. This behavior is caused by: 1) Personal factors. 2) Family conditions: dishonorable, parental temperament, lack of attention, and parenting. 3) Disrespectful and indiciplined peer enviroment and attachment to to games with violent content. The teacher’s efforts in overcoming students behavior with prentive measures through Christian religious education and corretive through the provision of sanctions or reprimand. / Disrespek dan indisiplin merupakan masalah yang sering ditemui di kalangan pelajar. Hal ini juga dirasakan oleh para pendidik di lingkungan SMP XYZ Makassar, khususnya pada siswa kelas VIII. Bagi para guru, perilaku disrespek dan indisiplin menjadi sangat khas karena mulai mucul sejak kelas VII dan terus meningkat ketika di kelas VIII. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus yang melibatkan sepuluh responden yaitu empat orang siswa, empat orang tua atau wali dan dua orang guru. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam, observasi dan kajian dokumen. Keabsahan data diuji melalui triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa menurut pandangan guru, perilaku disrespek ditunjukkan melalui: 1) Memberikan bantahan, 2) Berbicara dengan bahasa yang tidak santun. 3) Tidak memberikan perhatian pada saat guru mengajar. Perilaku indisiplin ditunjukkan melalui: 1) membuat keributan di kelas, 2) Tidak menggunakan atribut sekolah, 3) Tidak menyerahkan tugas. Perilaku ini disebabkan oleh: 1) Faktor personal. 2) Kondisi keluarga: dishormonis, tempramen orang tua, kurang perhatian, dan pola asuh. 3) Lingkungan teman sebaya yang disrespek dan indisiplin serta keterikatan game online dengan konten kekerasan. Upaya guru dalam mengatasi perilaku siswa dengan tindakan preventif melalui pendidikan agama Kristen dan korektif melalui pemberian sanksi atau teguran.
