Abstract

Teaching style is one of the important aspects in teaching practice. By implementing teaching style that suits to the needs of students and the context could enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning. This study aims to determine the effect of teachers’ self-efficacy and teachers’ understanding of the characteristics of generation Z students, and 21st century skills towards teachers’ facilitator style of teaching at School X Jakarta. This study used a quantitative approach with 60 respondents. The research instrument used was compiled based on the teacher's self-efficacy theory from Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001), literature review of generation Z from Ramar and Sharma (2016), Nai (2017) and Schwieger and Ladwig (2018), literature review on 21st century skills from Ravitz (2014) and Mishra and Mehta (2016), and the theory of teaching styles from Grasha (2002). Data analysis and hypothesis testing was conducted by multiple linear regression analysis and F–Test. The results obtained was there is an effect of teachers’ facilitator style of teaching by self-efficacy and teachers’ understanding of the characteristics of generation Z students and 21st century skills altogether simultaneously. By F test, the value of r2 obtained was 0.607, shows that the teachers’ self-efficacy, teachers’ understanding of the character of generation Z students, and 21st century skills contribute to the facilitator style of teaching of 60.7%. / Gaya mengajar merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam praktik pengajaran oleh guru. Dengan menerapkan gaya mengajar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa dan tuntutan zaman, dapat membuat lingkungan belajar lebih efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh efikasi diri guru serta pemahaman guru tentang karakter siswa generasi Z dan keterampilan abad ke-21 terhadap gaya mengajar guru tipe fasilitator di Sekolah X Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jumlah responden 60 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan disusun berdasarkan teori efikasi diri guru dari Tschannen-Moran dan Hoy (2001), kajian literatur tentang generasi Z dari Ramar dan Sharma (2016), Nai (2017) serta Schwieger dan Ladwig (2018), kajian literatur tentang keterampilan abad ke-21 dari Ravitz (2014) serta Mishra dan Mehta (2016), dan teori gaya mengajar guru dari Grasha (2002). Analisis data dan uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan analisis regresi linear berganda dan uji F Simultan. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah terdapat pengaruh efikasi diri guru, pemahaman guru tentang karakter siswa generasi Z, dan keterampilan abad ke-21 secara simultan terhadap gaya mengajar guru tipe fasilitator di Sekolah X Jakarta. Dari uji F simultan diperoleh nilai r2 sebesar 0.607 yang berarti efikasi diri guru, pemahaman guru tentang karakter siswa generasi Z, dan keterampilan abad ke-21 secara simultan memberi pengaruh sebesar 60.7% terhadap gaya mengajar guru tipe fasilitator.
