Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeskplorasi kinerja karyawan dari Generasi Z (kelahiran 1997 sampai 2012) sesuai Badan Pusat Statistik yang mulai memasuki dunia kerja di kota Jakarta khususnya di bidang jasa. Fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan partisipatif dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan yang dimediasi oleh kepuasan kerja. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data primer langsung dari responden melalui Google Form dan pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik nonprobability sampling jenis purposive sampling. Penelitian ini juga melakukan pengujian pretes dengan 33 Generasi Z melalui kueisoner, untuk menguji seberapa banyak indikator yang memiliki tingkat reliabilitas dan validitas sesuai terhadap subjek penelitian. Selanjutnya penulis melanjutkan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner dengan indikator dari hasil pretes dan mengumpulkan 222 responden dari Generasi Z, analisis data dilakukan melalui uji hipotesis satu arah menggunakan model Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) dengan aplikasi SmartPLS 4 dan model upsilon (v) untuk mencari nilai efek variabel mediasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa motivasi kerja berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan Generasi Z. Saran dari hasil penelitian ini adalah manajemen dan HR di daerah kota Jakarta khususnya di bidang jasa untuk dapat memberikan perhatian lebih kepada karyawan mereka yang Generasi Z dengan memberikan pelatihan seperti training, bimbingan lainnya untuk meningkatkan motivasi kerja dengan meningkatkan kualitas seorang pemimpin yang partisipatif (demokrasi) dalam melakukan kegiatan kolaborasi bersama. Sehingga munculnya Generasi Z di tempat kerja bisa memberikan dampak yang efisien dan efektif terhadap peningkatan kinerja karyawan. / This study explores the performance of Generation Z employees (born between 1997 and 2012, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics) who are starting to enter the workforce in Jakarta, particularly in the service sector. The focus of this research is to examine the influence of participative leadership and work motivation on employee performance, mediated by job satisfaction. Primary data were collected directly from respondents via Google Forms, using a non-probability sampling technique, specifically purposive sampling. The study also conducted a pre-test with 33 Generation Z respondents using a questionnaire to evaluate the reliability and validity of the indicators relevant to the research subjects. Subsequently, data collection continued with the validated questionnaire indicators, gathering responses from 222 Generation Z respondents. Data analysis was performed through one-way hypothesis testing using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) by SmartPLS 4 application and the upsilon (v) model to determine the mediation effect values. The results indicate that work motivation has a negative and insignificant impact on the performance of Generation Z employees. Based on these findings, the study suggests that management and HR in Jakarta’s service sector should pay greater attention to their Generation Z employees by providing training programs, mentoring, and other initiatives to enhance work motivation while improving the quality of participative (democratic) leadership in collaborative activities. This approach can ensure that the presence of Generation Z in the workplace contributes efficiently and effectively to improving employee performance.
