Abstract

Perhatian siswa merupakan segi afektif yang harus ditingkatkan oleh guru agar siswa dapat mengolah pesan yang disampaikan guru menjadi informasi yang bermakna. Penggunaan media pembelajaran dapat membantu guru dalam menarik dan meningkatkan perhatian siswa. Peneliti menemukan kenyataan dalam penggunaan media pada pembelajaran ekonomi pada siswa kelas X-2 SMA X, masih kurang maksimal digunakan untuk meningkatkan perhatian siswa. Pada sekolah tersebut belum banyak dikembangkan media pembelajaran sederhana untuk membantu guru menjelaskan konsep-konsep ekonomi. Akibatnya, siswa kurang meningkatkan perhatian terhadap pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana penggunaan media visual dapat membantu guru untuk meningkatkan perhatian siswa dalam mata pelajaran ekonomi pada kelas X-2 SMA X. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan tiga siklus tindakan. Instrument pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah umpan balik dari dua orang mitra peneliti, yaitu guru mentor peneliti dan Teacher Educator dan jurnal refleksi yang dibuat oleh peneliti. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan melalui ketiga siklus, didapati media visual dapat meningkatkan perhatian siswa selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Hal ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan media yang memadukan tampilan yang menarik dengan kelengkapan informasi yang dibutuhkan siswa. Perhatian siswa yang meningkat tampak dari keterlibatan siswa dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran menggunakan media visual. / Student’s attention is one of learning aspect that needs increasing by the teacher so that students can process the message brought by the teacher to become meaningful information. The use of learning media could help the teacher to get and increase the student’s attention. The researcher found that the use of learning media in economic lessons of students grade X-2 “X” Senior High School was not maximize to increase the students attention. At that school, the simple media for learning was not developed by the teacher to explain the economic lessons. As a result, students are not willing to give full attention to the lesson. The objective of this research, is to see how the use of visual media help the teacher to increase students attention in economic lessons grade X-2 in “X” Senior High School. This research used a Classroom Action Reasearch Method which consists of three action cycles. To collect data, the reasercher used feedback from two colaborating partner, which are from teacher mentor and teacher educator. The researcher also made the daily Reflection Journal to collect data. Based on this research, the researcher finds that visual media can increase student’s attention in learning process. In this research, the media used was the combination of attracting display and the meaningful information that student’s need. The increased of student’s attention shown by the involvement of students as they reach the purpose of lessons by using the visual media.
