Abstract

Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yang berbasis teks dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran secara daring menjadi kesulitan bagi siswa dalam memahami pelajaran. Pada kegiatan praktik mengajar di salah satu sekolah Kristen, penulis melihat bahwa siswa sulit memahami materi teks pidato yang dilihat dari hasil kerja siswa serta respons siswa di dalam kelas. Oleh karena itu, guru berperan membantu siswa agar materi yang disampaikan dapat dipahami siswa. Adapun tujuan dari tulisan ini yaitu memaparkan upaya guru melalui pemberian umpan balik terhadap kemampuan siswa membuat teks pidato pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, melalui penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Pemberian umpan balik membantu siswa untuk dapat memperbaiki pemahamannya yang kurang tepat terkait pelajaran yang diterima. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan siswa dalam memahami materi melalui umpan baik yang diberikan. Pentingnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi merupakan sarana bagi guru Kristen untuk dapat menyatakan keagungan Allah yang adalah sang Pencipta. Oleh sebab itu, guru Kristen berperan sebagai penuntun yang membantu siswa dalam memahami materi melalui upaya pemberian strategi belajar yang dilakukan. Saran penulis, guru harus terus-menerus mengevaluasi proses belajar mengajar untuk dapat menerapkan strategi belajar yang efektif. Kata Kunci: Pemberian umpan balik, peran guru/Text-based Indonesian lessons with the implementation of online learning make it difficult for students to understand the lessons. In teaching practice activities at a Christian school, the author sees that students find it difficult to understand speech text material seen from student work and student responses in class. Therefore, the teacher plays a role in helping students so that the material presented can be understood by students. The purpose of this paper is to describe the teacher's efforts through providing feedback on students' ability to make speech texts in Indonesian subjects, through descriptive qualitative research. Giving feedback helps students to be able to correct their inaccurate understanding of the lessons received. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' understanding of the material through the good feedback provided. The importance of students' understanding of the material is a means for Christian teachers to be able to express the greatness of God who is the Creator. Therefore, Christian teachers act as guides who help students understand the material through efforts to provide learning strategies that are carried out. The author's suggestion is that teachers must continuously evaluate the teaching and learning process to be able to implement effective learning strategies. Keywords: Giving feedback, teacher's role
