Abstract

Christian teachers hold an important role in teaching English as a foreign language in accordance with God's intended means. However, there are challenges for Christian teachers to teach English as a foreign language in a low-resource area context where students' English proficiency is very low. This study explores Christian teachers' English teaching using tailored interactive instruction methods for students with low English proficiency in a low resource area condition specifically facing the problem of students’ low vocabulary mastery. This study is using qualitative descriptive and literature review methods. The result found that the teacher is highly involved in the improvement of students' language learning by giving tailored interactive instruction methods suited for students' current English capabilities that are in accordance with God’s word. The suggestion for future researchers is to have a longer and more comprehensive session with the students to ensure students’ English improvement can be measured./Guru Kristen memegang peranan penting dalam mengajarkan Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa asing yang sesuai dengan kehendak Tuhan.
