Abstract

Disiplin adalah sikap taat terhadap peraturan dengan kesadaran dan kesenangan hati individu tersebut. Masalah disiplin siswa kelas I menjadi latar belakang dilakukannya penelitian ini. Siswa melanggar peraturan, tidak mengikuti instruksi guru, berbicara saat orang lain sedang berbicara, memukul teman, dan mengambil barang teman. Hal ini sangat mengganggu saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Siswa yang disiplin diharapkan mampu menaati peraturan di kelas, mengikuti instruksi guru, dan menghargai hak orang lain untuk belajar. Penerapan penguatan positif dalam penelitian ini merupakan upaya yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di kelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui apakah penerapan penguatan positif dapat meningkatkan disiplin siswa dan bagaimana penguatan positif dapat meningkatkan disiplin siswa kelas I. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) oleh Pelton. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak dua kali penerapan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Kupang, yang terdiri dari 23 siswa yaitu 16 siswa laki-laki dan 7 siswa perempuan. Sumber data yang digunakan antara lain: RPP, lembar umpan balik mentor, lembar observasi ceklis mentor dan teman sejawat, dan lembar refleksi peneliti. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan pada indikator I dari persentase lembar observasi ceklis mentor yang digunakan yaitu 34,78% menjadi 65,21%. Pada indikator II terjadi peningkatan dari persentase 56,52% menjadi 78,26%. Pada indikator III telah terjadi peningkatan mencapai 100%. Secara umum telah terjadi peningkatan pada disiplin siswa, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan penguatan positif dapat meningkatkan disiplin siswa kelas I di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Kupang./ Discipline is an obedient attitude upon the rules which involves awareness and willingness of each individual. A discipline problem in grade I becomes the background of this research. This can be seen when the students break the rules, not following the teachers‟ instructions, speaking while others are talking, hitting friends, and taking others‟ stuff . It was very disturbing during the class. The students who are discipline are expected to obey the rules in the class, following the teachers‟ instruction, and respect others‟ rights to learn. Implementing positive reinforcement in this research is an effort to improve students‟ discipline in the classroom. The purpose of this research is to know whether the implementation of positive reinforcement can improve students‟ discipline and how positive reinforcement can improve grade I students‟ discipline in one of Christian schools in Kupang. This research used Classroom Action Research by Pelton as the research method. This research was conducted twice in its implementation with 23 students; 16 male students and 7 female students as the research subject. The source of the data are from lesson plans, mentors‟ feedback sheets, checklist observation sheets from mentor and a peer, and the researcher‟s reflections. The data collection shows that there is a significant improvement in indicator I from the percentage of checklist observation sheets which is from 34,78% to 65,21%. On the indicator II there is a significant improvement from 56,52% to 78,26%. On the indicator III there is an improvement up to 100%. Generally, there has been an improvement on students‟ discipline. Therefore, it can be concluded that positive reinforcement can improve grade 1B student‟s discipline in a Christian school in Kupang.
