Abstract

Keterampilan motorik halus sangat penting bagi tumbuh kembang anak terutama dalam hal melatih otot–otot kecilnya. Masalah yang ditemukan di kelas Kindergarten III Sekolah Lentera Harapan Tangerang adalah siswa mengalami kesulitan menggunakan keterampilan motorik halus terutama dalam melipat kertas. Oleh karena itu peneliti mengambil keputusan untuk menerapkan metode demonstrasi melalui kegiatan melipat kertas untuk meningkatkan motorik halus siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1). mengetahui penerapan metode demonstrasi melalui kegiatan melipat kertas Origami dalam meningkatkan motorik halus siswa Kindergarten III Sekolah Lentera Harapan Tangerang, 2). menjelaskan langkah-langkah metode demonstrasi melalui kegiatan melipat kertas origami untuk meningkatkan motorik halus siswa Kindergarten III Sekolah Lentera Harapan Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Robert P. Pelton dalam penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dan dilakukan pada tanggal 17-26 Oktober 2018. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah rubrik untuk menilai hail kerja siswa, jurnal refleksi, dan umpan balik mentor. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan motorik halus dalam melipat kertas pada kelas kindergarten III mengalami peningkatan melalui penerapan metode demonstrasi. Pada indikator pertama (rapi) dari pertemuan pertama dan pertemuan kedua mengalami peningkatan sebesar 10% (20% ke 30%), sedangkan (cukup rapi) mengalami peningkatan 5% (60% ke 65%), dan (belum rapi) terjadi penurunan 15% (20% menjadi 5%). Indikator kedua (cepat) juga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 5% (30% ke 35%), sedangkan (cukup cepat) memiliki persetase yang sama yatu 35%, dan (lambat) mengalami penurunan 5% (35% menjadi 30%). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode demonstrasi melalui kegiatan melipat kertas dapat meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus siswa./ Soft motoric skill is important for the children’s growth, especially in training their tiny muscles. The problem that the researcher found in Kindergarten III of Sekolah Lentera Harapan Tangerang is the students had some difficulties in using their soft motoric skill, mainly in folding paper. Then, the researcher chose to apply the demonstration method through activity that involves soft motoric skill. Purpose of this research are; 1) knowing the application of demonstration method through an activity in folding the origami paper to improve motoric skills of Kindergarten III Sekolah Lentera Harapan Tangerang students, 2) explain the steps of demonstration method through an activity in folding origami paper to improve soft motoric of Kindergarten III Sekolah Lentera Harapan students. The researcher uses Robert P. Pelton model in Classroom Action Research (CAR) and descriptive quantitative analysis technique. This study was held on October 17th – 26th 2018. There are two instruments that used, they are; rubric to assess the student’s outcome and mentor’s feedback. Based on the data analysis result, it shows that soft motoric skill in folding paper of Kindergarten III class was increased by using the demonstration method. There are two indicators that used in this research. Based on the firs and second meeting, the first indicator (neat) increased for 10% (from 20% to 30%), 5% for quite neat (from 60% to 65%), and unneat was decreasing for15% (from 20% to 5%). The second indicator (fast) increased as well increased for 5% (from 30% to 35%), while quite fast had the same precentage, it was 35%, and slow decreased for 5% (from 35% to 30%). In conclusion, the demonstration method can improve student’s soft motoric skill through folding paper activity.
