Abstract

Peran guru Kristen sangat dibutuhkan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa melalui penguatan positif guna mempengaruhi pikiran, emosi, dan perilaku siswa menjadi positif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas IV tingkat Sekolah Dasar di salah satu sekolah swasta Kristen dengan total 18 siswa. Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah kurangnya motivasi belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan penguatan positif di dalam kelas mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan didukung kajian literatur. Melalui penerapan penguatan positif, siswa memahami potensi potensi yang dimilikinya dan tidak membatasi diri karena ketakutan atau kurang percaya diri. Guru sebagai rekan kerja Allah membantu siswa mengalami transformasi yang holistis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penguatan positif dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, penguatan positif dapat diterapkan dengan cara verbal dan nonverbal. Selain itu dalam menerapkan penguatan positif, guru harus terlebih dahulu mempraktikkan pada dirinya sendiri dan perlu membangun kondisi kelas yang menyenangkan dan aman bagi siswa. Saran yang diberikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya yaitu, dapat mengkaji lebih mendalam dampak penguatan positif baik secara positif maupun negatif. Serta, peneliti dapat melakukan konfirmasi terlebih dahulu kepada siswa hal yang melatarbelakangi siswa berperilaku pasif dan tidak tertib. / The role of Christian teachers is needed in increasing student learning motivation through positive reinforcement to influence students' thoughts, emotions, and behavior to be positive. The study was conducted on grade IV elementary school students in one of the Christian private schools with a total of 18 students. The problem found is the lack of student motivation. The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of positive reinforcement in the classroom can increase student learning motivation. The research method used is qualitative descriptive supported by literature review. Through the application of positive reinforcement, students understand their potential and do not limit themselves because of fear or lack of confidence. Teachers as God's co-workers help students experience holistic transformation. The results showed that positive reinforcement can increase student learning motivation, positive reinforcement can be applied in verbal and nonverbal ways. In addition, in implementing positive reinforcement, teachers must first practice on themselves and need to build a pleasant and safe classroom atmosphere for students. The advice given for future research is to examine more deeply the impact of positive reinforcement both positively and negatively. Also, researchers can confirm in advance to students what is behind students behaving passively and disorderly.
