Abstract

Dalam dunia pendidikan kedisiplinan adalah hal yang sangat penting untuk diterapkan. Faktanya kedisiplinan masih menjadi masalah yang terus terjadi secara khusus kepada siswa jenjang sekolah dasar. Bentuk ketidakdisiplinan yang terjadi seperti tidak hadir ke sekolah tepat waktu, memakai seragam tidak sesuai jadwal, bermain rautan dan pensil, jalan-jalan ke bangku teman, mengobrol dengan teman, bercanda pada saat ibadah, tidak mengerjakan tugas tepat waktu, tidak mendengarkan guru dan beberapa perilaku lainnya. Kedisiplinan perlu ditingkatkan karena ini merupakan salah satu kunci terjadinya pembelajaran yang efektif. Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk memaparkan penerapan metode reward dan punishment dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan data yang ada, telah terjadi peningkatan persentase kedisiplinan siswa yaitu dari 65% (kategori sedang) menjadi 85% (kategori tinggi). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan reward dan punishment dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan pada siswa. Seorang guru Kristen berperan menjadi pembimbing yang menolong siswa untuk terus hidup dalam ketaatan melalui kedisiplinan yang ada di sekolah. Saran yang dapat diberikan kepada penulis berikutnya adalah mempertimbangkan jenis penghargaan yang diberikan agar dapat menunjang pembelajaran serta menerapkan metode ini dalam jangka waktu yang panjang sehingga konsistensi kedisiplinan siswa tetap terjaga/In the world of education, discipline is a very important thing to apply. In fact, discipline is still a problem that continues to occur, especially for elementary school students. Forms of indiscipline that occur such as not coming to school on time, wearing uniforms not according to schedule, playing with sharpeners and pencils, walking to friends' benches, chatting with friends, joking during worship, not doing assignments on time, not listening to teachers and several other behaviors. Discipline needs to be improved because it is one of the keys to effective learning. The purpose of this paper is to explain the application of reward and punishment methods in improving student discipline. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the existing data, there has been an increase in the percentage of student discipline from 65% (medium category) to 85% (high category). So we can conclude that the application of rewards and punishments can increase student discipline. As Christian teachers, our role is to be mentors who help students to continue to live in obedience through discipline in schools. Suggestions that can be given to the next author are to consider the type of reward given so that it can support learning and apply this method over a long period of time so that the consistency of student discipline is maintained
