Abstract
penanganan air limbah Rungkut-Surabaya, Indonesia. Konsorsium Acinetobacter
bakteri komersil yaitu Acinetobacter pittii. Perbandingan konsorsium
The presence of toxic heavy metals in aqueous streams have been increase
due to industrial waste, effecting aquatic products (shrimp, squid, and fish). Some
of heavy metals can not be digested, so it will accumulate in animals or human
body. The biggest risk of excessive heavy metals is death. Nowadays,
bioremediation have been used for pollutant especially reduction of heavy metals
compound. Bioremediation is a process used to treat pollutant by using
microorganisms. Some microorganisms are resistant to heavy metals, such as
Acinetobacter sp. IrC1 and Acinetobacter sp. IrC2, which are isolated bacteria
from activated sludge in an industrial wastewater treatment plant at Rungkut-
Surabaya, Indonesia. Consortium Acinetobacter sp. IrC1 and Acinetobacter sp.
IrC2 perform better reduction of heavy metals than pure culture. The aim of this
research is to determine consortium ratio of Acinetobacter sp. IrC1 and
Acinetobacter sp. IrC2 in heavy metals reduction. The selected consortium will
be compare to commercial bacteria such as, Acinetobacter pittii. The selected
consortium ratio of Acinetobacter sp. IrC1 and Acinetobacter sp. IrC2 is
66.66%:33.33% with the percentage reduction of heavy metals (Zn, Fe, and Mg)
in aquatic products (shrimp, squid, and fish) ranging from 91.69% to 99.82%.
Acinetobacter pittii has lower percentage reduction of heavy metals (Zn, Fe, and
Mg) in aqutic products (shrimp, squid, and fish) ranging from 87.87% to 99.50%.
Other heavy metals in shrimp, squid, and fish are Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, and Hg.
