Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan penulis pada hasil kerja siswa kelas X MIPA/IPS yang menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak siswa yang belum mampu menyelesaikan masalah rutin pada materi fungsi komposisi dengan tepat. Hal ini merujuk kepada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang rendah. Menyikapi masalah tersebut, penulis menerapkan metode pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk melatih kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dimiliki siswa. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penulisan paper ini untuk menjelaskan penerapan metode pembelajaran berbasis masalah dalam melatih kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas X MIPA/IPS pada materi fungsi komposisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat melatih kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas X MIPA/IPS pada materi fungsi komposisi berangkat dari masalah rutin ke masalah tidak rutin khususnya pada indikator merencanakan dan melaksanakan penyelesaian. Melalui pembelajaran ini, siswa diingatkan bahwa mereka adalah wonderfully made yang berkewajiban mengusahakan bumi dengan memaksimalkan kemampuan berpikir yang sudah Tuhan anugerahkan. Saran kepada penulis selanjutnya untuk mengkaji penerapan metode pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada materi pelajaran matematika lainnya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Selain itu, untuk dapat melihat tahapan pemecahan masalah, perlu mendesain soal yang mampu melihat setiap tahapan-tahapannya./This research was motivated by the author's findings on the work of class X MIPA/IPS students which show that there are still many students who have not been able to solve routine problems on the composition function material correctly. This refers to the students' low mathematical problem solving ability. In response to these problems, the authors apply problem-based learning methods to train students' problem-solving skills. Therefore, the purpose of writing this paper is to explain the application of problem-based learning methods in training the mathematical problem solving skills of class X MIPA/IPS students on compositional function material. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that the application of problem-based learning methods could train students' mathematical problem solving skills in class X MIPA/IPS on compositional function material from routine problems to non-routine problems, especially on indicators of planning and implementing solutions. Through this learning, students are reminded that they are wonderfully made people who are obliged to work on the earth by maximizing the thinking ability that God has given them. Suggestions to the next writer to examine the application of problem-based learning methods in other mathematics subject matter to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. In addition, to be able to see the stages of problem solving, it is necessary to design questions that are able to see each of the stages.
