Abstract

Miskonsepsi menjadi salah satu penyebab rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Saat melakukan praktikum lapangan pada salah satu sekolah Kristen di Yogyakarta, guru mendapati masalah miskonsepsi pada siswa kelas XII. Miskonsepsi terjadi saat siswa sedang membahas tugas terkait materi statistika data tunggal. Sebagai upaya untuk mengatasi masalah miskonsepsi tersebut, guru menerapkan pendekatan konstruktivisme sosial. Pendekatan konstruktivisme sosial menilik belajar sebagai proses dalam kelompok. Oleh sebab itu, penulisan paper ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan upaya dalam mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa kelas XII melalui penerapan pendekatan konstruktivisme sosial dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Upaya guru dalam mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa sebagai wujud nyata dari peran guru sebagai perpanjangan Tuhan untuk membuat siswa cakap dalam memahami konsep pelajaran sehingga membuat siswa dapat menyadari realitas keteraturan serta hukum-hukum ciptaan Allah sehingga menuntunnya kepada pengetahuan yang sejati. Oleh sebab itu, hal ini berkaitan dengan epistemologi perspektif Kristen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan konstruktivisme sosial efektif dalam mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa kelas XII. Peneliti menyadari bahwa masih banyak kekurangan dalam melakukan penelitian ini. Oleh sebab itu, kepada peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk meneliti kembali masalah miskonsepsi namun secara kuantitatif. Selain itu, disarankan juga kepada guru untuk rajin mengecek pemahaman siswa yang dapat dilakukan dengan membuat pre dan post test. / Misconceptions are one of the causes of low student learning outcomes. While doing a field practicum at a Christian school in Yogyakarta, the teacher encountered a misconception problem in class XII students. Misconceptions occur when students are discussing an assignment related to single data statistics. To overcome these misconceptions, the teacher applies a social constructivism approach. Therefore, this paper aims to describe efforts to overcome the misconceptions of class XII students through the application of a social constructivism approach in learning. The research was conducted by qualitative descriptive method. The teacher's efforts in overcoming students' misconceptions are a tangible manifestation of the teacher's role as an extension of God to make students proficient in understanding the concept of the lesson so that students can realize the reality of order and the laws of God's creation so that it leads to true knowledge. Therefore, this is related to the epistemology of the Christian perspective. The results showed that the application of the social constructivism approach was effective in overcoming the misconceptions. The researcher realizes that there are still many shortcomings in conducting this research. Therefore, it is recommended for further researchers to re-examine the problem of misconceptions but quantitatively.
