Abstract

ABSTRAK Disiplin merupakan sebuah kebutuhan mutlak pada anak usia dini, karena pada masa ini merupakan masa yang paling efektif untuk membentuk perilaku anak. Salah satu cara untuk membentuk perilaku anak usia dini yaitu dengan melatih sikap disiplin melalui reward dan punishment. Melatih sikap disiplin pada anak usia dini harus dilakukan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan-nya. Tujuan penulisan karya ilmiah ini memaparkan bagaimana melatih anak usia dini untuk hidup disiplin dengan memberikan reward dan punishment. Disiplin adalah membimbing murid terhadap pengenalan akan Allah. Guru Kristen merupakan agen rekonsiliasi antara murid dengan Tuhan yang diberikan karunia untuk menuntun murid memiliki sikap disiplin seperti yang Allah kehendaki. Punishment adalah tindakan untuk mengurangi perilaku negatif pada anak dan reward untuk memperkuat perilaku positif pada diri anak. Melatih disiplin anak melalui reward dan punishment dilakukan bukan dengan kekerasan dan berlebihan karena akan menimbulkan pengaruh tidak baik terhadap perilaku dan psikologis siswa. Reward dan punishment berjalan dengan efektif jika guru mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang kreatif, inovatif dan sesuai dengan karakteristik anak usia dini. Pemahaman guru terhadap perkembangan dan karakteristik anak usia dini memudahkan guru menemukan solusi yang tepat dalam melatih sikap disiplin anak. Guru disarankan menciptakan rules dan procedure di dalam kelas untuk sebagai sarana melatih disiplin siswa. Kata Kunci: Disiplin, Anak Usia dini, Reward dan Punishment ABSTRACT Discipline is an absolute necessity in early childhood, because at this time is the most effective time to shape children's behavior. One way to shape early childhood behavior is to practice discipline through reward and punishment. Practicing discipline in early childhood must be done in accordance with the characteristics of its development. The purpose of writing this scientific paper describes how to train early childhood to live a disciplined life by providing reward and punishment. Discipline is guiding students towards knowing God. Christian teachers are agents of reconciliation between students and God who are given gifts to guide students to have the disciplined attitude God wants. Punishment is an action to reduce negative behavior in children and rewards to strengthen positive behavior in children. Train the discipline of children through reward and punishment is not done with violence and excessive because it will cause unfavorable effects on student behavior and psychological. Reward and punishment run effectively if the teacher is able to create learning that is creative, innovative and in accordance with the characteristics of early childhood. Teachers' understanding of the development and characteristics of early childhood makes it easy for teachers to find the right solution in practicing the discipline of children. The teacher is advised to create rules and procedures in the classroom as a means of training student discipline. Keywords: Dicipline, Early Childhood, Reward and Punishment
