Abstract
In facilitating students, English teachers must know the nature of students and understand about the principles as a facilitator. The teacher as a facilitator plays a role in guiding and motivating students to be actively involved in the classroom. To be able to guide students to be active in the classroom, teachers need to find strategies that match the interests and abilities of students. One strategy that can be applied by teachers is to use group discussions. In group discussions there are two types of student groups, namely active students and passive students. From the gap between active and passive students, the important role of the teacher is to be able to facilitate each student to become active learners and participate in group discussions. As a Christian teacher, it is important for the teacher as a facilitator to be able to do more than just facilitate students. Teachers need to develop the potential and ratios that God has given to each student to be used to glorify God's name. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data sourced from observation sheets and teaching practice reflection during the researcher second practicum. The results of this study indicate that Christian English teachers can use the teacher's role as a facilitator to facilitate students, especially for the secondary level by refer to the facilitator’s principles.
