Abstract

A teacher has important role to manage the class for learning process can run smoothly by having effective management. Behavior management is one of the abilities that teachers need, especially for the homeroom teacher. Observation held in fourth-grade of primary students at XYZ school and found that some students have behavioral problems. Aside, other subject teachers reported some students’ behavior to the homeroom teacher. Therefore, the researcher researches “Homeroom Teacher’s Action in Managing Primary Students’ Misbehavior at School” in purpose to find out the factors of student’ misbehavior and to know how the teacher overcome those problems. As the results, the most common factors of student misbehavior is a boring lesson, lack of interest in the subject, having learning difficulties, seeking attention, and peer factors. So, teacher can make engaging learning in class, help students in need, use verbal warning and consequences appropriately. Christian educators also need to ask the guidance of the Holy Spirit in managing the students’ behavior for the Glory of God. The recommendations are homeroom teacher can cooperate with other subjects teacher for managing students’ behavior and for further research, long-term research is required to observe a student who shows misbehave for managing his behavior effectively.
