Abstract
Manusia adalah makhluk rasional ciptaan Allah yang memiliki akal budi dengan kemampuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikirnya bagi kemuliaan Allah. Salah satu mata pelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi hal ini adalah Theory of Knowledge (ToK). ToK diajarkan untuk mengasah kemampuan berpikir siswa dengan menjawab beragam pertanyaan mengenai konsep pengetahuan dengan topik yang terkait. Oleh sebab itu, untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan berpikir siswa, dibutuhkan hasil belajar pada ranah kognitif sebagai media evaluasi dari pembelajaran yang berlangsung. Akan tetapi, dalam observasi yang dilakukan pada kelas XI, peneliti menemukan adanya masalah dalam hasil belajar pada ranah kognitif. Sebagian besar siswa mendapat nilai rendah (dibawah 65 sebagai nilai KKM) ketika mengerjakan kuis karena siswa memberikan jawaban yang salah. Hanya 25% dari 27 orang siswa yang mencapai nilai KKM (65). Berdasarkan hasil observasi tersebut, peneliti memutuskan memakai metode Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Metode STAD dipilih karena dapat membantu siswa memahami materi untuk mencapai nilai maksimal lewat bantuan dari anggota kelompok mereka. Oleh sebab itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan metode STAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dan bagaimana penerapan metode STAD yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Pelton. Penelitian ini dimulai pada tanggal 6 September 2018 - 1 November 2018 dengan dua kali penerapan tindakan yang melibatkan 27 orang siswa. Sumber data yang digunakan terdiri dari umpan balik mentor, lembar tes siswa, lembar observasi mentor dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode STAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XI. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan hasil tes dari 85% siswa yang mencapai KKM pada penerapan pertama, menjadi 100% siswa yang mencapai KKM pada penerapan kedua./ Humans are rational beings created by God with the ability to develop their thinking skill for God's glory. One subject that can facilitate this is the Theory of Knowledge (ToK). ToK helps students to improve their thinking skill by answering various questions about the concept of knowledge in related topics. Therefore, in order to assess the students’ thinking skill, the cognitive learning outcome is needed as a media to evaluate the learning process. However, in the observation conducted in grade XI, the researcher found a problem in the students’cognitive learning outcome. Most students had a low score (below 65 as the KKM score) while working on the quiz because they gave the wrong answer. Only 25% of 27 students reached the KKM score (65). Based on the observation result, the researcher decided to use the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) method to improve the students' cognitive learning outcomes. The STAD method was chosen because it could help the students to understand the materials to achieve maximum score through the help of their group members. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out whether the implementation of the STAD method can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes and how to implement the STAD method to improve the students' cognitive learning outcomes. This research used Class Action Research (CAR) method with Pelton model. This research was conducted from 6 th of September until 1 st of November, 2018 with two times implementation which involved 27 students. The sources of data consisted of mentor’s feedback, students’ test result, mentor’s observation sheet and reflection journal. The result showed that STAD method could improve grade XI students’ cognitive learning outcomes. It was seen from the improvement of the test result from 85% students that reached the KKM in the first implementation to 100% students that reached the KKM in the second implementation.
