Abstract
Manusia sebagai gambar dan rupa Allah memiliki tanggung jawab untuk
mengembangkan dan memaksimalkan kemampuan yang mereka miliki untuk
memuliakan Allah. Hal ini dapat dinyatakan salah satunya melalui adanya hasil
belajar kognitif. Hasil belajar kognitif merupakan suatu komponen penting dalam
suatu pembelajaran karena hasil belajar kognitif menunjukkan tingkat kemampuan
siswa terhadap tujuan pembelajaran yang telah ditetapkan dan ditunjukkan melalui
nilai. Berdasarkan observasi yang telah dilakukan di kelas VII A SLH Kampung
Harapan, ditemukan bahwa hanya sebesar 33,33% siswa yang mencapai nilai KKM
yang telah ditentukan pada pelajaran matematika. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa masih
belum menguasai perkalian dan pembagian bilangan bulat, belum teliti dalam
melakukan perhitungan, dan kurang berlatih mengerjakan soal-soal matematika.
Oleh karena itu, peneliti menerapkan pembelajaran dengan metode drill untuk
meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif di kelas tersebut dan untuk mengetahui cara
penerapan metode drill dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada
pelajaran matematika.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan
model PTK Pelton yang terdiri atas satu kali penerapan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan
pada tanggal 3 Oktober hingga 17 Oktober 2018 di kelas VII A SLH Kampung
Harapan yang melibatkan 27 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan
menggunakan sumber data lembar tes, umpan balik mentor, angket siswa, jurnal
refleksi. Berdasarkan analisis data yang telah dilakukan, persentase kelulusan siswa
mengalami peningkatan menjadi 59,30%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan
bahwa penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa di
kelas VII A SLH Kampung Harapan pada pelajaran matematika dengan topik
operasi hitung pecahan biasa./ Human as image of God has responsibilities to improve and maximize their
abilities to glorify of God. These things can be represented by one example is
cognitive achievement. Cognitive achievement is an important component in
learning process because cognitive achievement indicates the level of student
ability of learning objective that have been set and indicated by scores. Based on
observations made in class VII A SLH Kampung Harapan, it was found that 33,33%
students could not reach the KKM values that had been determined in mathematics.
This is because students can not yet operate multiplication and divison, can not
computing detail, and do not practice working on math problems. Therefore,
researchers applied learning with the drill method to improve cognitive
achievement in the class and to find out how to apply the drill method to improve
student’s cognitive achievement in mathematics.
This study uses the class action research method with the Pelton PTK model
which consists of one treatment. This research was started on 3rd October 2018 until
17th October 2018 in class VII A SLH Kampung Harapan involving 27 students.
Data collection was carried out using data source test sheets, mentor feedback,
student feedback, reflection journals. Based on the data analysis that has been done,
the percentage of student graduation has increased to 59,30%. Thus, it can be
concluded that the application of the drill method can improve the cognitive
students in class VII A SLH Kampung Harapan in mathematics with the topic of
ordinary fraction counting operations.
