Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya konsentrasi belajar siswa kelas 4C di SDN INPRES ABC Papua. Permasalahan ini diamati dari segi kognitif, afektif, serta psikomotor yang ditunjukkan siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar siswa, dengan cara penggunaan media PowerPoint. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, dengan model Kemmis Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 4C, dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 22 orang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 27–28 Oktober 2015. Dalam penelitian ini, data akan diolah secara deskriptif, menggunakan rumus penghitungan matematika sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media PowerPoint dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar siswa. Hasil ini dilihat dari siswa yang telah mencapai indikator konsentrasi, seperti menunjukkan pengetahuan awal, mampu menafsirkan informasi, menyebutkan aplikasi dari informasi yang didapat, memperhatikan, serta menunjukkan gerak anggota tubuh sesuai instruksi. Penggunaan media PowerPoint mampu meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar apabila bersifat multimedia, menampilkan tidak lebih dari tiga warna dalam satu sajian slide, menggunakan beckground sesuai dengan tema, menggunakan karakter huruf tegas dan jelas, menampilkan teks yang bersifat garis besar, serta menyajikan materi secara komunikatif. / This research is based on the lack of learning concentration in students of grade 4C in SDN ABC INPRES Papua. This problem was observed from a cognitive, affective, and psychometric aspect that was shown by the students during the learning process. As a result, the purpose of this research is to improve the learning concentration of the students by using PowerPoint as a media. The method of this research is classroom action research with Kemmis Taggart model that was conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research is the students in grade 4C with an amount of 22 students. The research was conducted on 27-28 October 2015. In this research, the data will be processed in descriptive, using simple mathematical calculation formula Based on the result of the research, it can therefore be concluded that the using of PowerPoint media can improve the learning concentration of the students. This result can be seen through the students who have shown features of concentration such as showing prior knowledge, able to interpret information, mention applications from the information received, paying attention, and showing movement of the body according to instructions. The use of PowerPoint media can improve the learning concentration of students only if it is in the shape of a multimedia, showing not more than three colors in one slide, uses background according to the theme, using letter characters that are firm and clear, displays text as an outline, and present the materials communicatively.
