Abstract
Kemampuan penggunaan Ejaan yang Disempurnakan (EYD) merupakan
salah satu hal penting dalam menulis bahkan dalam mengungkapkan bahasa
Indonesia dengan baik dan benar. Kurangnya kemampuan penggunaan EYD
dalam menulis karangan akan mengakibatkan siswa tidak memahami tata menulis
yang baik dan benar. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti mendapati rendahnya hasil
kemampuan siswa dalam menggunakan EYD dalam menulis karangan pada siswa
kelas III di salah satu SD Kristen di Koja pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.
Akhirnya peneliti menerapkan suatu cara yang dapat membantu pengembangan
ide dalam menulis karangan dan dianggap cocok oleh beberapa ahli untuk
mengatasinya yaitu dengan langkah-langkah penerapan gambar seri.
Peneliti menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang
dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus. Peneliti melaksanakan penelitian dari 03 Agustus-09
November 2015. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa penilaian
tulisan dalam mengarang (rubrik) dan lembar pengamatan konten untuk proses
pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan menggunakan
statistik sederhana.
Hasil penelitian ini terbukti dengan adanya peningkatan persentase
pencapaian indikator penilaian tulisan (rubrik) dan penilaian konten karangan dari
sikus I, II, dan III. Persentase indikator MGSP 56,5%, 87% menjadi 96,1%,
indikator PTB 43,5%, 60,7% menjadi 91,3%, indikator PHK 69,6%, 57% menjadi
87% dan indikator PK 65,2%, 69,6% menjadi 74%. Sedangkan persentase pada
penilaian konten karangan yaitu MJG 91,3%, 87% menjadi 100%, MPPKK yang
terdiri dari dua sub indikator memperoleh persentase yang sama yaitu 17,4%,
95,6% menjadi 100%, dan MPSKK yang terdiri dari dua sub indikator
memperoleh persentase yang sama yaitu 17,4%, 95,6% menjadi 100%. Dari hasil
tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan penggunaan EYD
dalam menulis karangan dapat meningkat dengan langkah-langkah penerapan
pada gambar seri./ The ability of using Ejaan yang Disempurnakan (EYD) is one of the
important things in writing moreover in expressing Indonesian language
appropriately. Less ability in writing essay using EYD makes the students do not
understand appropriate writing order. From this research, the researcher found in
one of private school at Koja in Indonesian language subject that the third grader
students’ ability in using EYD is low. Therefore, the researcher implemented way
to help students to develop idea in writing essay and considered agree with some
experts to overcome the problem which by using steps to implement series of
picture.
The research method used by the researcher was Classroom Action
Research (CAR) held in three cycles. The research was conducted on August 3rd
until November 9th, 2015. The instruments used in this research were rubric to
assess the students’ essay and content observation sheet. Then, the data anlayzed
descriptively and used simple calculation.
The research findings proven by the increasing of indicator achievement
in assess studednts’ writing (rubric) and content from cycle I, II, III. Indicator
percentage of MGSP from 56,5%, 87% become 96,1%, indicator PTB from
43,5%, 60,7% become 91,3%, indicator PHK from 69,6%, 57% become 87% and
indicator from PK from 65,2%, 69,6% become 74%. Whereas percentage for
essay content assessment which are MJG from 91,3%, 87% become 100%,
MPPKK which consist of two sub-indicators reached same percentage which from
17,4%, 95,6% become 100%, and MPSKK which consist of two sub-indicators
reached same percentage which from 17,4%, 95,6% become 100%. The result can
be concluded that the improvement of ability in writing essay using EYD can
improve because of the steps in implementing series of picture.
