Abstract

This study explores the impact of supply chain operational capabilities, technology, and quality management on supply chain performance in Indonesia's manufacturing sector, with innovation capability as a mediating variable. In the era of Industry 4.0, the implementation of advanced technologies such as ERP and warehouse management systems has become essential to enhancing competitiveness. However, findings indicate that the effectiveness of technology heavily depends on workforce capabilities and geographical context. This research focuses on two FMCG companies, which, despite holding ISO 9001:2015 quality certifications, exhibit differing supply chain performance due to variations in employee skill levels and work environments. Data analysis using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method reveals that innovation capability plays a significant role in bridging the relationship between technology, operational capabilities, and quality management with supply chain performance. Factors such as employee training, technology integration, and strategic collaboration have proven to enhance a company’s ability to respond more effectively to market demands. The study also highlights that urban areas tend to achieve better performance outcomes due to access to infrastructure and skilled labor, compared to rural areas that face technical limitations. This research provides both theoretical and practical contributions by offering strategic insights for manufacturing companies to optimize supply chain performance through innovation and technology utilization. Managerial implications include recommendations for strengthening employee training, adopting data-driven technologies, and fostering an innovation culture. This study is expected to serve as an academic reference and practical guide for improving the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in emerging markets like Indonesia.
