Abstract

Teaching and learning activities will be done well if it has cooperation and good educational interaction between teacher and students. Both things can be performed if teacher and students can carry out their responsibilities as educator and learners. But often students have a problem to follow the lesson in the classroom, especially on subject that is not desirable and is considered difficult as mathematic. When students are misbehaving in class, it will not only disrupt the teacher while teaching the material but also it will disrupt the other students. Thus, teaching and learning process won't be done maximal. One way that can be done to deal with this problem in math classes is to use proper intervention method. This research was conducted at one private senior high school in the West Jakarta, precisely at the VIII ABC class totaling 13 students. This research was conducted in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR), with data collection tools of observation, reflection journals and mentor feedback. Data obtained was processed by providing descriptive narrative explanation. From the research, it can be concluded that by using proper intervention in dealing with student‟s misbehavior, we can maintain the positive learning environment in the classroom. / Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar (KBM) akan terlaksana dengan baik jika memiliki kerja sama dan interaksi edukatif yang baik antara guru dan siswa. Kedua hal tersebut dapat terbentuk jika guru dan siswa mampu menjalankan tanggung jawab masing-masing sebagai pengajar dan pelajar. Namun seringkali terjadi siswa tidak mengalami kesulitan untuk mengikuti pelajaran di kelas, terutama pada pelajaran yang tidak disukai dan dianggap susah seperti matematika. Pada saat siswa berperilaku menyimpang, hal tersebut bukan hanya akan mengganggu guru pada saat mengajarkan materi pelajaran tetapi juga akan mengganggu siswa lain. Hasilnya, proses belajar mengajar tidak akan berlangsung maksimal. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini dalam pelajaran matematika ialah dengan menggunakan metode intervensi yang benar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA swasta di Jakarta Barat, tepatnya pada kelas VII ABC yang berjumlah 13 orang siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), dengan alat pengumpul data berupa lembar observasi, jurnal refleksi dan tanggapan mentor. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah dengan cara memberikan penjelasan secara naratif deskriptif. Dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan intervensi yang tepat dalam menangani perilaku siswa, kita dapat mempertahankan lingkungan pembelajaran yang positif dalam kelas.
